An Easy Way to
Make RE Possible
Our 1st-5th grade class & 6th-7th grade class are in need of a second adult this Sunday to uphold our Safe Congregation practices. No preparation required.

Searching for a Child Care Provider
Do you have a babysitter you love? Do you know someone who is patient, kind, and gentle with children, and would like a little extra income? Are you in an online parent or neighborhood group where you could post our job announcement?

We are hiring another Sunday morning child care provider to ensure we are living up to our safe congregation practices. Starting as soon as possible, the hours are Sunday, 9:45am - 11:45am with additional hours occasionally for congregational events, compensated at $15/hour. We are initially hiring through June 2022 with the hope the position is funded for next year, so will prioritize candidates who are available into the future. Pride Academy is a special program where you can make new friends, connect with LGBTQ+ adults, and learn more about yourself and this special part of your identity. At Pride Academy, you’ll earn community service hours while learning more about the history of the LGBTQ+ rights movement, how you fit into LGBTQ+ culture, the role media plays in shaping our understanding of LGBTQ+ people, and how to advocate for yourself and your community. Most importantly, we'll build a community of friends and allies who understand the unique challenges and opportunities being LGBTQ+ brings and celebrate our culture together! Wear a mask, enter through the RE lobby, and visit the RE welcome table. After worship, please pick up your children so RE leaders can go to other activities. We will continue using blue dots on nametags to indicate completed vaccines. Share updated vaccination information with Tracy.

1st-5th Grade Class, Love Connects Us
Meet in Room 13 in the Red Hallway
Laura S is leading the 1st-5th grade class. The Blake covenant asserts that we "seek the truth in love." In this class, children will hear the story of Unitarian Universalist minister David Pettee, who sought the truth about his family's history of owning slaves. In finding truth, he found pain, but also joy and healing. The children will also play a game that invites them to discern truth from lies.

6th-7th Grade Class, Amazing Grace: Exploring Right and Wrong
Meet in Room 41 in the Green Hallway
Laura G is leading the 6th-7th grade class about forgiveness. Youth will explore such religious ideas as redemption and salvation: concepts that are meaningful for many UUs and helpful for youth to understand more fully other faith communities.

8th-9th Grade Class, Coming of Age Handbook & Compass Points
Meet in Room 11 in the Red Hallway
Nicholas A is leading the 8th-9th grade class, joined by mentors, exploring the 6 UU Sources of our Living Tradition. Our 8 Principles reflect our values and act as a moral guide in our daily lives. We live out these Principles within a “living tradition” of wisdom and spirituality, drawn from sources as diverse as science, poetry, scripture, and personal experience. Youth should bring your cell phone or a laptop/tablet, if possible, so you can get online during class. If you don't have a device to bring, please let Tracy know and she’ll loan you one for class (cuucwptracy@gmail.com).

On Sun Mar 20, the people of many nations will celebrate Nowruz, the ancient Zoroastrian/Persian celebration of the New Year. For our Nowruz gathering we invite you to bring a dish to feed about 6 people, a poem or song to share, and the readiness to dance (or clap along). Proof of vaccination required.
