The joys of music,
creativity, and self-expression can be an antidote to discrimination, as the
CUUC Choir’s performances of “Shenandoah” and the Beatles’ hit “Good Day Sunshine”
will suggest this Sunday morning. Solo piano selections include works by
composers of African descent from the traditions of Ragtime and Spirituals,
musical forms which gave hope and solace in times of oppression. Read on for
